"Rev.Dreams" 2 be even healthier by end of 2013!!...

My Goals:
*Exercising as much as I can to become healthier! & maintain good health!...
*UPDATE 12/27/12:
I've decided to change my goal to lose more--this will be my LONG term goal to be reached by  12/31/13...I've lost 98 lbs. in the last 17 mths. & know that I can stand lose another 102 lbs.(using the low end of the weight loss recommendation on the BMI chart) by this time next year!! I've got my New Year's resolution mapped out for 2013!!...all set & ready to go!!!!...

5/16/09-12/26/12--lost 98 lbs.(majority since 8/17/11)
=left to lose 58 lbs. by 7/16/13
*add 29 lbs. to that to get to 140 lbs. by 8/13
**changed long term goal to 125lbs. by 12/31/13--need to lose a total of 102 lbs. & if I still don't like how I look I need to lose more!!... 

My Program:
*Continue to keep my doctor's appointments & do as they tell me to become healthier.
*Continue to drink 8 glasses of water daily. Still keeping drinking soda at a minimum(which is rarely).
*Continue to eat plenty of fresh fruit & vegetables
*Continue to eat chicken & fish & very little red meats
*Eat in moderation. Not taking "bad foods" out of my healthy lifestyle entirely. Continue using self control. What I am doing is working!! I am losing on average of 2 lbs./wk....

I've (so far) made it from this(11/17/2010)
-me @ 325 lbs. which was from gaining that 121lbs. 
(that I'd lost) back plus packing on another 16 lbs. on top of it!!:

My journey to a healthier me (for ME) continues...


2007-My "Rocker chick" do(It would be nice to find someone around here that knows how to do the modernized "Farrah" do!) I weighed 309 lbs. I lost 121 lbs. within 4 mths. time(pictures shown are of me at 188 lbs. I was 19 lbs. from my goal...)

2009-I weighed 325 lbs.(picture shown is me at 325 lbs. 11/17/2010) I've lost 81 lbs. so far since this photo...

2011:First(before) photo is of me March 2011 & 2nd (after)photos are of me September 2011. I donated 16 inches of my hair to "Locks of Love" while another 8 inches was cut off(shorter than I had asked for but it grew back)... :)

2012-I weigh 244 lbs.(pictures shown-taken 7/28/12-at current weight) with 75 lbs. left to lose!...My goal weight is 169 lbs.

My life has taken a NEW turn it seems

My weight loss journey is going even better than I could have hoped for! As you can tell from my ticker I've lost 124 lbs. since May 16th, 2009 with majority being since August 17th,2011. With another 21 lbs. to go!! goal date is July 8th,2013!!...

 UPDATE!! 4/25/13:
I have lost 8 lbs. more since my last update making me now just 21 lbs.! from my goal weight of 180 lbs.!! by my goal date of 7/8/13!! I've gotta really buckle down now & make some more time for toning up on my manual treadmill!!...

As a result adjustments reflected below:
Hi everybody! My name is Kelly & I have been a member of MFP since April 1st, 2010..In the time that I've been here I've lost 124 lbs.with the majority lost since August 17th,2011.I have just 21 lbs. to go to meet my goal weight of 180 lbs. by my goal date of 7/8/13!!In March 2012 I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes(-found out I'd had it for 5 yrs.-),under active thyroid,& high cholesterol.In February 2013 I was told that my diabetes is going away. My thyroid is doing better & my cholesterol is going down. I go back to the doctor in May 2013 for a follow up. If my blood work comes back with the results that my doctor hopes for he says that he will be able to take me off my medications.My doctor is very impressed with my progress & says that he is going to mark me down as a success story.I AM seeing results & you can too!!... We all hit plateaus but we make our way through it. Please don't give up!...

The 1st time around in 2007 I lost 109 lbs. within like 4 months time. Refer to pic of me (with my "rocker chick" look)at my thinnest. I was like 19 lbs. from my weight loss goal when I came to the Adirondacks to better my life on 1/4/2008. Unfortunately I had been under a lot of stress up to that point & was severely malnourished. Had I not removed myself from the situation I was in at that time I probably would not have survived because I was sicker than myself or anyone knew.

But I am getting healthier every day!I have cut my portions by more than half.Eating lots of fresh fruits & vegetables.I eat chicken & fish.I barely even eat any red meats these days.I rarely have soda & I have only about 2-3 cups of coffee a day. I don't crave/overindulge in sweets like some & for that I am thankful.

For those of you that know me I keep VERY! busy.I am all over the internet & I wear many hats. I have a lot of people that depend on me & I need to be healthy to be able to do all that I do...

I provide non-profit promotional assistance by helping musicians (& some others) to promote their links & through recommendations as well as airplay on our radio & TV stations.We also have a musical movement geared toward child abuse awareness which is incorporated into our promotions company & as part of our ministry. I am an (ordained) reverend.I am a singer.

I wanted to be able to do even more for the artists,etc. out there so I recently rejoined the talent agency that I worked for as a Manager/Agent some years ago.This time around I have more responsibilities & with a different title of Event Promoter/Manager.

I am a Peer Respite Advocate for a local non-profit agency. We are an alternative to the traditional mental health system.

I also share missing/ exploited posters & amber alerts via the internet.

As if that were not enough I have several other projects going on like online studies to better my advocate/research specialist work-assisting authorities in solving cold cases,etc...

My Weight Loss Journey:The Beginning

I began my weight loss journey on May 16th, 2009. I have since lost 36 lbs. as of today April 1st, 2010. I know it's not a lot but I'm losing it slow-the healthy way. My ideal weight goal is 169 lbs. & I have 104 lbs. left to lose by my tentative goal date of 4/28/11. I felt that by starting a blog to track my progress would be helpful not only to myself but those that chose to follow my blog. I'm still new to the whole blogging process despite having written on other subjects in the past so please bare with me. If you could give me a few pointers along the way that might help too.I guess to begin my story I should tell you a little about my past history as to my weight struggles.Until I had my tonsils & adenoids out in 1978 I was a beanpole.By late 2006 I was at my heaviest-309 lbs.But by the time I'd turned 36 things began to change. I lost 109 lbs.on Slimfast but it happened within a few short months due to the stressful situation I was in at the time.I had ended a long term relationship because it was literally making me ill. If I'd stayed in that unhealthy environment much longer I would have likely died.My friend Casper lead me to a better life for myself.So in January 2008 I moved nearly 300 miles from "home" to take my life in a new direction. I came here malnourished.I began having increased problems with concentration & memory. I was tired all the time.I looked like a skeleton. I needed to grow stronger.Within 8 months I gained all of the weight back that I had lost & then some because I was actually eating regular meals. But they were healthy meals with fruits & vegetables. I've been working on myself a lot in all areas including breaking old thought patterns as I had begun to think so low of myself.
