My Weight Loss Journey:The Beginning

I began my weight loss journey on May 16th, 2009. I have since lost 36 lbs. as of today April 1st, 2010. I know it's not a lot but I'm losing it slow-the healthy way. My ideal weight goal is 169 lbs. & I have 104 lbs. left to lose by my tentative goal date of 4/28/11. I felt that by starting a blog to track my progress would be helpful not only to myself but those that chose to follow my blog. I'm still new to the whole blogging process despite having written on other subjects in the past so please bare with me. If you could give me a few pointers along the way that might help too.I guess to begin my story I should tell you a little about my past history as to my weight struggles.Until I had my tonsils & adenoids out in 1978 I was a beanpole.By late 2006 I was at my heaviest-309 lbs.But by the time I'd turned 36 things began to change. I lost 109 lbs.on Slimfast but it happened within a few short months due to the stressful situation I was in at the time.I had ended a long term relationship because it was literally making me ill. If I'd stayed in that unhealthy environment much longer I would have likely died.My friend Casper lead me to a better life for myself.So in January 2008 I moved nearly 300 miles from "home" to take my life in a new direction. I came here malnourished.I began having increased problems with concentration & memory. I was tired all the time.I looked like a skeleton. I needed to grow stronger.Within 8 months I gained all of the weight back that I had lost & then some because I was actually eating regular meals. But they were healthy meals with fruits & vegetables. I've been working on myself a lot in all areas including breaking old thought patterns as I had begun to think so low of myself.
